Fill in the PDF with one click
Choose a client’s response: the filled-in PDF downloads, ready to review and sign.
What it is for
Produce each client’s official form with no retyping.
Prerequisites and plan
A template with at least one linked field and a source form; at least one COMPLETED response. Free plan: 5 fills per month; Pro: unlimited.
Steps
- “Fill in a PDF” → open the template.
- Scroll down to “Fill in for a client”.
- In “Client response”, choose the person (name — date).
- Click “Fill in with one click”.
Expected result
The filled-in PDF (template and client name) downloads. Open it in a PDF reader to review, sign and save. Each fill counts toward the month’s quota.
Tips
- Formtool does not keep the filled-in PDF: save it in your client’s file.
- Only responses already completed are offered.
- PDF readers recalculate the appearance of the fields when opening; some email previews may show them empty.
Common problems
- “No responses received for this form. Send it to a client first from Forms.”
- No client has filled in the source form yet.
- “First link at least one PDF field to the responses.”
- Save at least one link (“Save the links”).
- “No field could be filled in with this response.”
- The links match no question in this form: review them.
- “Limit reached: 5 PDF fills per month with the Free plan.”
- Upgrade to Pro or wait for next month.
- “This response is not completed yet.” or “Client response not found.”
- Reload the page; the response may have been deleted.
